Remote Signalling Equipment
Dualcom combines radio and telephone signalling paths to afford continuity of communication. If one signalling path fails, either accidentally or maliciously, the functioning path will transmit this event to the monitoring Control Room, eg) if a prolonged telephone line fault occurred, the system would afford continued service via the radio link.
The efficiency of this equipment can be affected by atmospherics, tree and shrub foliage, fittings and building alterations and regular tests should be carried out to ensure correct operation. The facility necessitates installing a block terminal at your premises for which you will be charged directly by your telephone company. Following an activation it may be possible to reset the system via a telephone call to the Monitoring Control Room. If the operator is satisfied that an engineer need not attend, a random code will be issued allowing the system to be reset. An increase in the annual Monitoring Control Room charge will be made if this facility is required.
The purpose of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) is to help reduce the number of false alarms. A requirement of the ACPO policy is that every alarm system connected to a Monitoring Control Room must be issued with a Unique Reference Number (URN) by the Police and that at least two keyholders are able to attend the alarm system. Without this keyholder information we cannot obtain the URN from the Police and will therefore be unable to fully commission your system. Please note: It is necessary to ensure that the alarm system performs correctly for a period of not less than fourteen days before signals are passed to the Police.
This is to comply with the ACPO Policy and NACOSS Code of Practice NACP11 Sect 3.6.
